Crate This provides custom made packaging for American businesses in a variety of industries. Our team works with medical companies, industrial manufacturers, small businesses, and more. One of our core services is plant relocation. When you have expensive custom machinery that needs to be moved across the country or across the world, you need crating and packaging designed to withstand the potential risks that come with freight forwarding. Recently we finished a job that included ten flatbeds and eight 40-foot containers to move bulk machinery from one plant to another.
A big part of this recent job was creating out of gauge crates. Several of these crates were created for the relocation with custom dimensions. All of our crates are designed with the appropriate strapping, blocking, and foam inserts to avoid any issues in transit. At our warehouse in Holbrook, we created several OOG crates to hold the larger machines and use our NELMA wood to ensure that all of the crates meet international standards for travel. Because this shipment was utilizing ocean freight shipping services, we had to ensure that all of the machinery was properly packaged for ocean shipping.
At Crate This we are always working to ensure that every package gets the exact degree of protection that it needs. Unlike other packaging companies that provide one-size-fits-all packaging, we make sure that the protection we provide is custom-tailored for the goods you are shipping and the type of freight shipping you will be utilizing. For this project, we used rust inhibitor VCI films to protect the machinery before it was sent via ocean freight. When shipping via ocean freight there are a variety of ways we protect goods. We have four different applications of VCI films and vapor barrier packaging.
